We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer with at least 7 years of experience to lead mechanical design efforts across new and existing product lines. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in SolidWorks, capable of producing complete, detailed drawing packages for procurement, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for deployable solar powersystems
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
- Produce complete procurement packages with BOMs, tolerances, GD&T, and manufacturing notes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and procurement
- Support prototyping, testing, and field deployment
- Manage design documentation and revisions (SolidWorks PDM preferred)
- Ensure designs meet relevant government and industry standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 7+ years of mechanical design experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, and drawings)
- Proficient in SolidWorks PDM
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, GD&T, and materials
- Experience taking designs from concept through to release for production
- Experience with first-article process for procuring new components
- Experience with configuration management systems and change management
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with deployable systems, rugged equipment, or government/defense products
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90, $130,000.00 per year
