Position: Tax Admin Clerk (Seasonal / Part-Time)

Summary:

Our tax and financial services firm is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented individual who will provide clerical support for 20-25 hours per week during tax season (mid-January through April). . The position will entail manual assembly of physical client tax return copies for the firm's clients, as well as some clerical duties (such as filing or scanning) when assembly duties are slow.

Position is ON SITE only, as job is physical in nature.

Office is located in central San Diego. Schedule is flexible between the hours of 8:30-5:00 pm weekdays.

Principal responsibilities

· Assembly of physical tax return client copies, from mid-January through April (no actual tax preparation)

· Other clerical duties, such as filing, scanning, or postmarking mail may be assigned.

Required competencies

· High attention to detail; ability to follow and recall instructions

· Basic familiarity with office equipment, such as copiers

· Good communication and organizational skills; reliable and responsible

· Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally, and adhere to compliance rules

· Education - Minimum of high school diploma, or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to climb 1 flight of stairs to 2nd story office location

· Must be able to lift 5-10 lbs, and be able to stand for at least an hour at a time

· Must have hand and wrist strength for operating heavy stapler, and be able to handle repetitive movements

· Must be able to bend/twist at the waist and raise arms (for possible filing duties).

Optional experience that is a plus:

· Previous administrative office experience of 6 months or more, especially if in a financial environment

· Familiarity with basic tax forms and/or entities

Additional Information:

Potential for continued part-time employment during the "off" season (May – December) if agreeable, and if tax season work is satisfactory. Schedule is flexible during off-season weekdays.

**Due to the sensitive nature of our business and compliance requirements by our broker-dealer, new hires must also submit to a background check and fingerprinting process.
