Position Summary

The Assembler Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing truck equipment and accessories. This role requires the ability to work independently, follow installation instructions, use a variety of tools, and perform basic welding, electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulic hose fabrication. Training and supervision are provided, but technicians are expected to complete tasks on their own once trained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret installation instructions in English for equipment and accessories.
  • Perform installation and repair tasks independently after training.
  • Use hand tools to assemble components using nuts, bolts, and related hardware.
  • Maintain a personal toolbox; company provides $500 annual reimbursement for tool purchases.
  • Cut steel using a band saw or cut-off wheel.
  • Perform grinding using handheld grinders.
  • Troubleshoot 12V electrical systems for truck equipment, including:
  • Liftgates
  • Safety lighting
  • Electric/hydraulic dump body hoists
  • Trailer wiring
  • Fabricate new hydraulic hoses using a hose-making machine.
  • Weld steel using MIG and/or TIG welding equipment (not necessarily)
  • Company provides training on proper welding techniques.
  • Assemble van shelving, cab protectors, and ladder racks on Transit-style vans.
  • Install truck equipment such as:
  • Liftgates
  • Dump bodies
  • Lift axles
  • Toolboxes

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand written installation instructions in English.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of 12V electrical systems is preferred.
  • Hydraulic hose fabrication.
  • Ability to work independently after training.
  • Ownership of basic hand tools (company reimburses annually).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Hands-on, shop-based environment.
  • Regular use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
  • Ability to lift, move, and work with steel components and truck equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $ $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
