Your Role:

Under close supervision of the Nutrition Services Supervisors and according to defined procedures and established schedules, the COOK performs a variety of duties normally executed in serving customers, preparing food, transporting and emptying trash receptacles, cleaning the kitchen, server-storing stock, and checking and recording hot and cold temperatures and washing dishes. This is a per-diem position.

Summary:

The Cook role is responsible for preparation of foods for patients, guests, residents, and employees. Assures the facility's cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Food safety certification required (e.g., ServSafe) and must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience: One year of relevant food production experience required. One year of specialized culinary training or institutional/retail cooking experience preferred.
