What you will have an opportunity to do:
We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual with experience in driving sales revenues for hotels or resorts to join our team as Sales Manager. This role is a key position that will be responsible proactively soliciting and managing group business in the assigned vertical markets and the assigned geographical market. Actively up-sells to maximize revenue opportunities. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Responsible for driving customer & guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience. Provides service to customers to continue to grow the account.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to the following: other duties may be assigned.
- Meet, greet, and entertain potential clients, providing information regarding the property to promote and increase sales
- Generate requests for proposals and manage efforts to secure group business
- Negotiate contracts ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented
- Supervise the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings, working closely with other departments to ensure that the guest specifications are met and their satisfaction is achieved
- Represent the hotel in trade shows, maintaining high visibility and positive relations in relative business organizations
- Sales Strategy Planning and Sales Performance Reporting
- Must meet or exceed annual goals/targets of position
The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business and meet client needs. This position is an on-property position but may require occasional travel for client visits, solicitation and training. This person must be a team player who loves to apply creativity and a good sense of humor to the sales process. The ability to listen, speak and write in English to ascertain information and respond to clients is a must. Knowledge of Delphi/FDC is helpful. Independent, high-energy entrepreneurial Sales professionals will excel. Knowledge of hotel structure and how all departments interact is a plus. A minimum of 2 years of hotel sales experience required.
