ASRC Federal is seeking a Director, Proposal Writing to join the Proposal Operations organization. This position provides strategic leadership to a team of seven Proposal Writers and the Past Performance and Training Manager. The Director serves as a working lead, contributing to proposal development efforts while advancing proposal writing standards, processes, and team performance. This is a remote position with some travel requirements (mainly within the Washington DC metropolitan area but can be throughout the U.S.).

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Proposal Writers to foster a high-performance, collaborative environment.
  • Provide thought leadership to advance writing quality and consistency across the organization.
  • Resource and Workload Management
  • Allocate writing resources in coordination with the Vice President of Proposal Operations and the Proposal Operations Leadership Team.
  • Support proposal staffing strategies to meet business development priorities.
  • Process and Quality Improvement
  • Partner with leadership to enhance proposal writing processes, tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training to ensure consistent application of writing standards.
  • Proposal Development
  • Collaborate with Proposal Managers, Capture Managers, Solution Architects, and Subject Matter Experts to develop compliant, compelling proposal content.
  • Write and edit technical, management, and past performance sections that align with solicitation requirements and corporate messaging.
  • Integrate key themes and discriminators to strengthen proposal competitiveness.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Participate in color team reviews and ensure proposal sections meet compliance and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; additional experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Federal Government proposal writing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring proposal professionals.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience developing annotated outlines and draft responses for Federal solicitations.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APMP or equivalent proposal management certification.
  • Familiarity with AI-based tools for proposal drafting and content development.
