Our dynamic, fast-paced environment requires sharp financial acumen to support strategic growth and operational efficiency. We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Financial Planning Analyst to support our Finance/Accounting group and drive insightful analysis in this essential area.
The Role
The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A at W. Silver Recycling, will be a key player in driving the financial strategy and operational efficiency of our dynamic metals recycling business. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), ensuring high visibility and direct involvement in executive-level decision-making. You will be responsible for leading forecasting, budgeting, and strategic performance analysis across the organization.
You will act as a strategic partner to operational and executive teams, transforming complex financial data into actionable insights that inform decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and support our long-term growth and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management:
- Serve as a trusted financial partner, providing financial guidance and challenging assumptions to drive accountability and profitability.
- Prepare and present comprehensive monthly/quarterly financial review packages for the CFO, executive team, and key stakeholders, translating complex data into clear deliverables.
- Monitor and analyze corporate overhead and SG&A trends, actively identifying cost optimization opportunities and process efficiencies.
· Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Help prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes for key departments and business units, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support operational planning and capital expenditure analysis.
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast, clearly communicating performance drivers and risks to leadership.
· Financial Modeling:
- Develop and manage a Strategic Metrics Dashboard to provide clear, insightful visualization of performance against budget, forecast, and strategic KPIs.
- Design, implement, and continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with W Silver Recycling's strategic and operational goals.
· Performance Analysis:
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial routines and enhance reporting speed and accuracy through automation and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure consistency and transparency in financial reporting and system data integrity.
- Assist in the administration and enhancement of financial planning systems (ERP) to improve system performance and functionality.
· Strategic Reporting:
- Drive accountability by proactively using the Strategic Metrics Dashboard and KPI analysis to identify underperforming areas and recommend corrective actions to business unit leaders.
Ad-Hoc Analysis:
- Provide timely and accurate financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including pricing strategies, supply chain efficiencies, and inventory valuation.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles. Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or the commodities/recycling industry is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. An MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Experience with ERP systems and financial planning software is required.
· Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
· Language: English/Spanish - Bi-lingual (preferred)
· Work Style: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
