Overview:
Join Dorleco as a Powertrain Thermal Systems Engineer and play a key role in developing advanced propulsion and thermal systems for next-generation vehicles. This position involves functional analysis, requirement management using IBM DOORS, and system modeling in MATLAB and SysML Rhapsody.
You'll work on hybrid and conventional powertrain functions, thermal loop management, and OBD-compliant system design. Ideal candidates have a strong background in vehicle dynamics, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols like CAN and LIN. Be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team driving innovation in sustainable and intelligent powertrain technologies.

Role and Responsibilities
- Required Knowledge and worked on Gear Shifter Interface Management, Drive Modes Control, Torque Control Functionality for Conv and ePT.
- Knowledge on Gear Shitters, Drive Modes, Terrian Modes, Torque calculations, ePT motor Torque Management
- Knowledge on PT, ePT Transmission shift schedules and Driveline Torque Calculations.
- Performing powertrain function analysis and function decomposition
- Requirement elicitation activities to gather Regulatory requirements, environmental and electrical parameters & associated corporate specifications etc.
- Propulsion system high level functional requirement artifact creation in IBM DOORS/IBM DOORS Next Gen (DNG) including attribute classifications.
- Propulsion System Operating Modes Identification, Analysis and Documentation in DNG.
- Propulsion system EOL Service requirements (IO,Routine,DID) defines for propulsion components
- Perform System Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (SFMEA) for Propulsion system functions and identify the safety requirement
- Participate in Agile Methodology to plan RASI deliverable timing and identify potential risks.
- Develop simulation/virtual models for specific propulsion features/functions using MATLAB, SysML Rhapsody.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Electronics Engineering other related Engineering degree
- Minimum 5 years' experience in conventional and hybrid powertrain development
- Good understanding on overall vehicle dynamics and vehicle system functioning
- Good understanding automotive electrical sensors and actuators, Temperature sensors, Pumps, Valves system functioning.
- Good understanding of Thermal Systems High, Low, AC, battery Temperature Loop loop management.
- Expertise with automotive communication protocols such as CAN , LIN along with OBD standards.
- Experience in Function analysis and function decomposition.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office products Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
- Proficient in requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORs, IBM DOORS Next Gen etc.
Preferred experience and skills
- Experience with Vector Tools for data collection.
- Vehicle Validation or Powertrain Calibration experience.
- Familiarity with Agile project management
- Experience with overall vehicle development cycle and Change management process.
- Good communication skills, able to lead meetings with cross functional team
