GENERAL SUMMARY

The Investor Accounting Analyst is responsible for performing advanced data and cash reconciliation projects, updating and analyzing various investor reports, schedules, and preparing monthly reports related to the direct servicing and subservicing mortgage loan portfolios. Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather and organize financial data. Responsible for communicating findings and providing a high level of communication with business partners to include MFA's Board of Directors, internal and external written and verbal. This includes compliance with regulatory requirements, and all auxiliary duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  • Monthly direct and subservicing department reports to include monthly board, delinquency, department synopsis, watchlist and any additional data reporting as needed.
  • Investor accounting and sub-servicing oversight and approval of monthly reporting activities and cash account reconciliations. (i.e. Monthly sub-servicing fees, investor advances, etc.)
  • Manage and reconciliation of all data and downloads for direct and subservicing portfolios.
  • Prepare all investor reporting including the quarterly call report (Mortgage Bankers Financial Reporting Form- MBFRF) for Servicing
  • Prepare industry surveys
  • Assist in ensuring timely processing of investor claims.
  • Perform mortgage servicing rights, foreclosure and loss mitigation reconciliations. Research and identify corrections to clear reconciling items.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and prepare audit schedules by specified deadlines.
  • Assist the Collection-Workout Specialist with monthly collection calls.
  • Provides courteous, timely customer service/information (oral and written) to all MFA borrowers, or to creditors on the borrower's behalf
  • Remain current on all investor updates and regulations to include Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, USDA, FHA and Mortgage Insurance companies.
  • Create and distribute various reports and perform data analysis.
  • Assist in special projects involving data analysis and reporting and communicate results of analysis.
  • Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
  • Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, and protocols.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two-year associate's degree in business administration, finance or accounting, and two years of directly related industry experience. Five years of directly related industry experience is acceptable in lieu of Associate's degree. Knowledge of Investor accounting and mortgage loans cash flow. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, creating and maintaining monthly reports. Proficient in data analysis. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
