Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will support the daily accounting operations of The Link & Option Center, Inc. and play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial processing, reporting, and compliance across the organization.
This role provides core transactional accounting support across accounts payable, revenue posting, general ledger, and grant coding — with close collaboration across Finance and program teams to ensure coding integrity, document compliance, and timely grant support.
The Staff Accountant works under the supervision of the CFO and will assist in strengthening financial workflows, supporting standardized procedures, and improving month-end close efficiency., we want to hear from you
Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Payable, including vendor invoice entry, coding, and approvals routing.
- Manage AP email inbox and workflow intake; respond to internal inquiries and route requests appropriately.
- Support RAMP transactions, vendor setup/maintenance, and card reconciliation processes.
- Prepare recurring/standard journal entries (accruals, monthly prepaid, depreciation, etc.).
- Perform general ledger reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, clearing, prepaid, accrued liabilities).
- Support payroll reconciliation processes including matching ADP payroll outputs to GL entries, benefits deductions, and ensuring proper accrued salary/benefit postings.
- Support revenue and deposit entry workflows (posting, matching, cash application).
- Ensure proper grant expense coding for all funding streams and cost centers.
- Prepare source schedules, support grant reporting documentation, and maintain support files.
- Support month-end close tasks, including calendar deliverables, reconciliation packages, and working papers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field, OR a combination of education and relevant work experience providing equivalent accounting knowledge.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (nonprofit experience strongly preferred).
- Experience with grant management / grant-funded programs strongly preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop required.
- Experience with ADP payroll systems preferred.
- Experience using RAMP and/or BILL (or similar expense management platforms) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

- Knowledge of laws and regulations concerning internships

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external providers.
- Demonstrated ability to accept constructive criticism and feedback from peers and supervisor.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Maintain all required trainings and certifications.
- Possess a valid US driver's license.
- Vehicle Insurance as required by Illinois Law, and a good driving record.
- Provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or possession of necessary papers allowing the holder to work legally in the United States.

Work Schedule:
- Available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with flexibility for occasional weekend and after-hours support.
- Ability to travel between offices and local offsite locations may be required.
