Clinical Support Specialist

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson AZ.
Responsibilities:
Schedule patient appointments Collect vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height for recording in patient charts Handle incoming faxes, orders, referrals, scanning, etc. Work with Medical Assistants to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner Send out prescription orders per physician orders and manage prescription refills Gather prior authorizations on all medications Fill out testing orders and explain testing to the patient Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail and that an answer is being sought Ensure charts are being prepped and checked to ensure that the proper paperwork is included Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics Coordinate remote clinics as neededAnswer operator calls if the operator is out or unavailable Manage all hospital procedure orders, scheduling and authorizations Check voicemails and respond in a timely manner Maintain a stocked and updated Code Cart Perform other duties as assigned or requiredRequirements:
- Healthcare setting knowledge
- Medical office experience preferred but not required
- Cardiovascular experience preferred but not required
