MSA has an opportunity for a Project Engineer Public Works at our Champaign, IL office. As a licensed engineer (PE), this position primarily supports local municipal engineering clients/projects.
This position is Flex Time eligible, and hybrid working arrangements are possible. Flex Time is a benefit for salaried staff that recognizes when you work over 40 hours in a week, in addition to your standard PTO (for example: work 42 hours this week, have 2 hours of Flex Time to use as future time off).

Responsibilities:
The work you will do
- Client relations including attendance at client meetings and interaction with existing and new clients
- Project management including project planning, scoping, budgeting and QA/QC
- Design and administration of construction on infrastructure projects
- Project experience in potable water, storm water and wastewater projects among more
- Assist with mentoring junior engineering staff
- Preparation of plans, details, specifications, and bidding documents
- Preparation of technical reports and regulatory permits for projects
Qualifications:
What you bring
Skills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related) required
- 4+ years of prior experience within the Public Works market, serving multiple clients required
- PE license required, IL PE preferred.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and client needs required
- Extensive knowledge of regulations and requirements within Wisconsin preferred
- Experience with funding and grants available to municipalities preferred
- This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
The salary for this position ranges from $79,081 to $126,529 per year commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
