Type: Part-Time or Full-Time | Extended Day Program
Reports To: Program Manager
About the Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA)
The Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA) empowers students across the region through equitable, high-quality academic and enrichment programs. We believe every child deserves joyful, engaging, and challenging learning experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence.
We're seeking a passionate and organized Education Program Coordinator to lead and expand extended-day academic programs across multiple K–8 school sites. This leadership role ensures programs are safe, enriching, and aligned with district goals and grant requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Implementation
- Plan, launch, and manage extended-day programs that meet district objectives and funding guidelines.
- Design daily schedules that balance academics, enrichment, and recreation.
- Ensure programs reflect best practices in youth development.
- Maintain organized, welcoming, and resource-rich learning environments.
Team Leadership & Student Supervision
- Recruit, train, and supervise site program staff.
- Create and manage staff schedules; provide coaching and constructive feedback.
- Maintain consistent student engagement, safety, and supervision.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional team culture.
Collaboration & Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with school administrators, district leaders, and community partners.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and caregivers.
- Develop partnerships that expand student enrichment opportunities.
Program Monitoring & Compliance
- Track attendance, tutoring hours, and student outcomes.
- Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with district and grant requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Communication & Professional Conduct
- Communicate clearly and promptly through Slack, email, and meetings.
- Represent BATA with professionalism, integrity, and a collaborative, solutions-focused attitude.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree or at least 48 college units from an accredited institution.
Experience
- Experience working with K–8 students in academic, enrichment, or youth development settings.
- Proven success in supervising staff and fostering positive learning environments.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including scheduling and data management.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High emotional intelligence and cultural responsiveness.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills.
Requirements
All candidates must complete BATA onboarding, which includes:
- Background check
- Mandated reporter and sexual harassment prevention training
- TB clearance
