UW Medical Center-Montlake - Gift Shop has an outstanding opportunity for a Retail Clerk 2.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
• Monday-Friday, 8:30am-close (around 5:30pm)
• May include a Saturday shift
• Day Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The UW Medical Center - Montlake gift shop, located in UW Medical Center's - Montlake's main lobby offers patients, families, visitors and staff a wide selection of merchandise that includes balloons, flowers and plants, jewelry and accessories, clothing, home decor, stationery, greeting cards, gift bags, toys and plush. We also sell newspapers and postage stamps.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately operate registers for all transaction types.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
• Assist customers in locating, selecting and purchasing various items.
• Receive, check, price and stock retail goods and supplies.
• Replenish merchandise and maintain displays and stock levels. Suggest reorders.
• Order gift shop items such as sundries, balloons, candy, food/beverage.
• Process phone orders for flora and gift items accurately and efficiently.
• May make bank deposits.
• Work with team members in a cooperative and supportive manner.
• Assist in training new team members and volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED certificate, AND one year of experience in retail selling, cash register operation, general clerical work and/or financial record keeping. Six months of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
