Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oral Surgeon to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in oral and maxillofacial procedures, providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive dental and surgical services, including complex extractions, implant placements, and other advanced oral surgeries. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in medical documentation, infection control, and utilizing dental technology to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of oral surgical procedures including dental extractions, implant placements, and alveoloplasty
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Utilize advanced dental imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Maintain meticulous medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate patient care
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care instructions
- Use dental terminology effectively to explain procedures and diagnoses to patients
- Assist in the management of pediatric dentistry cases when necessary
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards and maintain a sterile environment during procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in oral surgery, including dental extractions, root canal therapy, and prosthodontics
- Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix for medical documentation and records management
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices
- Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient workflow
- Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding pediatric dentistry protocols
- Ability to interpret medical imaging accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on comfort and communication
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Familiarity with dental fabrication processes is a plus
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or office setting is highly desirable
