Position Title: Lead Braider

Location: Star Beauty

Reports To: Salon Manager / Co-Owner

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

Star Beauty is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Braider to join our salon team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Boho braid styles and versatile in other braid and natural hair techniques. This role requires both artistry and leadership — delivering high-quality braid services while helping to build strong client relationships, increase clientele, and support the overall success of the braid team.

Key Responsibilities

• · Braid & Styling Services
• Perform a variety of professional braid services, specializing in Boho Knotless Braids. Execute additional styles including feed-in braids, cornrows, two-strand twists, Marley twists, loc starts and retwists, and other protective styles. Maintain exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all styles meet Star Beauty's quality standards. Stay updated on current braid trends, techniques, and tools.
• · Time Management & Professionalism
• Arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled shift and client appointment. Complete services within established time parameters for each style — understanding that while braid services are detailed, clients value both quality and efficiency. Consistently monitor service timing to improve speed without sacrificing craftsmanship or client comfort. Maintain awareness of upcoming appointments to ensure smooth client transitions and avoid unnecessary delays. Communicate promptly with management if scheduling adjustments or additional time is needed.
• · Customer Experience
• Deliver an excellent, friendly, and personalized client experience. Consult with clients to understand desired results and recommend styles and products suited to their hair type and lifestyle. Follow up with clients after appointments to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat

visits. - Handle client concerns or issues professionally and promptly.

• · Client Development & Marketing
• Assist in booking and confirming appointments, managing schedules efficiently. Proactively engage with customers in-store to promote braid services and build clientele. Participate in social media content creation and in-store promotions to showcase braid styles and attract new clients. Encourage referrals and positive reviews from satisfied customers.
• · Professionalism & Compliance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times. Ensure all tools and materials are properly sanitized and stored per state board regulations. Maintain an active braider's or cosmetology license in good standing. Continue professional education to enhance skillset and stay compliant with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Braider or Cosmetology License (required). Minimum 2 years of professional braiding experience, including Boho Knotless Braids. Strong knowledge of hair types, scalp health, and protective styling techniques. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct. Strong awareness of time management and service efficiency. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Friendly, approachable, and eager to grow clientele.

Preferred Skills

• Experience mentoring or training junior braiders. Familiarity with salon booking systems. Knowledge of Star Beauty products and ability to recommend retail items to clients. Enthusiasm for community outreach and marketing opportunities.
