EKG Technician

GENERAL OVERVIEW
Assists physicians and extenders in providing proper medical care and EKG testing for patients.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides timely, high quality diagnostic testing such as ECG's, Holtor Monitors, and Event Monitors accurately and efficiently and according to established guidelines for procedure. (20%)
- Maintains organized and complete documentation of clinical data for all procedures, and ensures the availability of complete electronic files for physician review. (20%)
- Performs ECG Management System (MUSE) functions and related clerical duties. (20%)
- Rooms and interviews patients to obtain health and physical information. Performs and records patient vital signs, weight, and height. (20%)
- Performs front office functions including, patient registration, chart prepartion, scheduling patient visits, procedures, and testing. Obtains authorizations and referrals as needed. (10%)
- Prepares and maintains treatment rooms and testing equipment for patient examinations, keeping the room stocked and cleaned, reordering supplies, and disposing of biohazardous supplies. (10%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- May require travel to satellite locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Associate's Degree required or equivalent clinical experience.
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
- Valid PA drivers license may be required
- Experience with ECG testing preferred
