Job Overview
A Claims Administrative Assistant supports Old Republic Professional (ORPRO) Claims Counsel and other ORPRO claims professionals with administrative-related tasks. The objective of this position is to provide a broad scope of administrative support to our in-house attorneys in the handling of claims made against ORPRO insureds. The Administrative Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the ORPRO Claims Department and ensures efficient claims processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and maintain electronic files for the ORPRO Claims Department
- Proofread and revise drafts of correspondence, internal reports, correspondence to insureds, outside counsel, and reinsurers
- Record keeping and electronic filing of documents
- Input data into the internal data management system
- Prepare check requests and pay loss/expense payments
- Record and track defense counsel invoices for erosion of policy deductible or retention
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a similar role; law firm experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong commitment to accuracy in document preparation
- Time management skills, including outstanding organization, high-level prioritizing, ability to multitask, and attention to detail
- Proficiency and technical experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in maintaining the confidentiality of work-related information and materials
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and quickly, in a fast-paced team environment

Location: Downtown – Chicago, IL
Job Type: Full-time
Remote Work: Hybrid, minimum 3 days in the office to promote collaboration and interaction with associates onsite.
Salary Range
$50,000 - $70,000
