Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within a fast-paced medical environment as well as clinical care to include allergy testing and subcutaneous shots. This role offers an opportunity to work in an outpatient allergy practice with a diverse patient population from infants to elders. Experience with EHR systems, medical terminology, and giving subcutaneous injections is highly valued. The position emphasizes professionalism, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures
  • Collect and verify patient information, including demographic and insurance details
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Manage phone calls and text messages, respond to patient inquiries, and provide necessary information regarding services
  • Support clinical staff with basic tasks such as recording vital signs, performing spirometry, placing skin prick testing, giving subcutaneous injections
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visits
  • Assist with administrative tasks
  • Support medication administration documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers outside our organization to help patients receive efficient care

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification is mandatory
  • Familiarity with EHR systems is advantageous
  • Strong patient service skills with a compassionate attitude toward diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care in a hospital or clinic setting

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week

License/Certification:
