Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to add to our team of project managers, superintendent's, and office staff to help manage the day-to-day operations of various size construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of underground utilities, earthwork, and civil infrastructure and thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, in a midsize firm as both a subcontractor and a general contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple civil, earthwork, and underground construction projects simultaneously
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking utilizing various software's and systems
- Coordinate daily activities with superintendents, foremen, crews, subcontractors, and inspectors
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents for constructability and scope
- Process change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress billings
- Coordinate, manage and submit detailed material submittals and submittal logs
- Maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, municipalities, and utility providers
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications
- Monitor production, quantities, and job costs; proactively identify risks and solutions
- Participate in project meetings, site walks, and progress reporting
- Marketing, sales, and customer acquisition and retention
- Project estimating, take-offs, and contractor outreach
- Help facilitate and manage our safety program
- Maintain required written programs and reports through ISN
- Submit quarterly and yearly OSHA reports
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in civil and/or underground construction project management
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm, dry utilities), earthwork, and civil infrastructure
- Multitask, problem solve and work autonomously
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and civil drawings
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and field operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with the following software's strongly preferred
- Agtek, MS Project, Excel, Procore, Outlook
- Optional software includes: Bluebeam, HCSS, Foundation
- Valid driver's license
- Passing random drug testing and screenings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with public works and municipal projects
- Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and local agency requirements
- Experience in BPA and other electrical grid and access construction preferred
- Background in estimating or field supervision
