- Pay Range: $120,000 – $155,000 per year (Commensurate with Experience)
Position Summary
A well-established hospital-based neurology and stroke program in the Sherman, Texas area is hiring a Neuro Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to manage inpatient neurological and cerebrovascular cases in collaboration with experienced neurologists and critical-care specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inpatient evaluations, neurological exams, and care planning for patients with acute neurological conditions.
- Participate in stroke codes, multidisciplinary rounds, and daily treatment updates.
- Manage patients in step-down and neuro-critical care settings.
- Educate patients and families about neurological disease processes, treatments, and recovery.
- Support ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license and ACNP certification
- BLS (required); ACLS (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in acute or hospital-based NP practice
- Excellent clinical judgment and documentation accuracy
Preferred
- Background in neurology, neuro-critical care, or hospital medicine
- Stroke certification or advanced training (NIHSS, ENLS)
- Familiarity with EEG, lumbar puncture, or neuro imaging procedures
