Captive Accountant

Your Impact:

• Maintain the financials for several captive insurance companies domiciled in DE, TN, NC, and MT on a monthly basis.
• Enter bank transactions into Quickbooks and reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Analyze monthly investment account statements, enter investment account transactions in Quickbooks and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.
• Prepare monthly journal entries in Quickbooks.
• Generate monthly financials in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with preparation of 1099s.
• Assist with preparation of annual reports.
• Prepare surplus calculations to determine amount of available surplus for alternative investments and dividends.
• Prepare bank transaction listings
• Prepare investment calculations to determine amount available to be invested.
• Timely respond to audit and examination requests from auditors and regulators.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

• BS degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred)
• 2+ years accounting experience in a relevant industry (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as QuickBooks
• Basic MS Excel skills
