Location: Bronx, NY

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours per week)

Salary: $290,000–$350,000 per year

Job Summary

A leading healthcare organization in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a Deputy Executive Director to oversee the administration and management of daily operations in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Deputy Executive Director acts as the CEO's delegate, exercising broad authority and independent judgment across multiple service areas, including Operations, Facilities Management, Ancillary Services, Clinical Operations, and Emergency Management. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of performance, compliance, staff development, and financial sustainability across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of programs, policies, and organizational goals established by the CEO.
  • Supervise the implementation of hospital operations programs and policies, ensuring effective coordination between facility and corporate departments.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for all accreditation or inspection activities.
  • Manage procurement, construction, and facility modifications within established policies and budget guidelines.
  • Lead and participate in interdepartmental and departmental meetings, appointing staff to committees as appropriate.
  • Maintain productive and professional relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of hospital management reporting systems for planning, performance tracking, and evaluation.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and service excellence through staff development and performance management.
  • Develop, review, and manage annual budgets, ensuring operational alignment with financial targets.
  • Serve as Chief Executive Director during the CEO's absence.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Medical Administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare administration, with responsibility for total operations or major divisions.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital administration practices, laws, and healthcare operational standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Google Workspace, and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to supervise 5 or more direct reports.
Certifications & Licensure
  • Active RN License (NY State) – must provide primary source verification from NYSED.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Additional Information
  • Full-time, exempt leadership position requiring on-site presence.
  • No relocation assistance, transportation, or travel expense reimbursement will be provided.
