Seasonal Tax Associate (Contract) – Busy Season Support

We are seeking a
seasonal contract tax associate
to assist during the upcoming tax season. This role is ideal for an experienced tax preparer who wants meaningful, hands-on tax work in a professional environment with direct CPA support.

This is not an entry-level or bookkeeping-only role.

Location:
Coral Gables, FL (office-based preferred; hybrid/remote considered for strong candidates)

Term:
Seasonal contract (busy season)

Schedule:
Flexible hours within deadlines; hours controlled by firm needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules)
  • Assist with basic business returns (1120 / 1120-S / 1065), depending on experience
  • Work with client documentation and follow established tax workflows
  • Use QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) and professional tax software
  • Communicate clearly regarding open items, questions, and deadlines
  • Maintain accuracy and efficiency during peak filing periods

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of tax preparation experience
    in a public accounting or tax practice
  • Hands-on experience with individual income tax returns (1040)
  • QuickBooks experience required
    (Online and/or Desktop)
  • Familiarity with professional tax software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • PTIN required (or ability to obtain immediately)

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with business returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065)
  • CPA or EA credentials (or working toward)
  • Prior seasonal or busy-season tax experience
