Description:

We are currently looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team at Flower City Dermatology. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the business and our patients. This is a fast –paced, detail-oriented practice that will require work and process to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently. Able to work effectively as a team member.

. Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain sensitivity and confidentiality for the patient while assisting physician. Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships.

-Knowledge of medical terminology, including basic human anatomy. Demonstrates familiarity with medication names and medical procedures.

-Assist attending with procedures including excisions and biopsies.

-Sterilize, set up and prepare instruments, equipment, and rooms.

-Proficient computer skills including advanced keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with knowledge of electronic medical records systems.

-Exceptional professional behavior.

-Must have a high attention to detail and accuracy when documenting/scribing health

information/notes during patient visits.

-Follow up calls from patients regarding questions, test results, medication refills and post-surgical follow-up.

-Ensure rooms are stocked daily.

-Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for

safety, patient service, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.

-Assist with medication prior authorizations.

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)

Prefer: Derm office experience, or motivated pre-med student willing to dedicate 1-2 years before going to Medical/PA school

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
