Job Statement
We are seeking a
Field Installation Specialist
experienced in managing on-site setup and commissioning of
rotary milking systems
for dairy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, solid leadership qualities, and hands-on installation expertise to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee field installations of rotary milking parlors and related systems, ensuring all work meets engineering and safety standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple installation projects, effectively managing resources, materials, and schedules.
- Support and guide dealer teams through construction and equipment setup phases, ensuring precision and compliance with design specifications.
- Identify and report missing components, design updates, or installation challenges to internal teams for prompt resolution.
- Communicate proactively with dealers and customers to provide updates, resolve on-site concerns, and maintain client satisfaction.
- Verify accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure alignment with sales orders and project plans.
- Maintain proper documentation for technical files, compliance certifications, and project progress reports.
- Travel frequently (approximately 50% or more) for installation projects, typically for one- to two-week periods.
Technical & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience in field installations, mechanical systems, or dairy equipment setup preferred.
- Ability to interpret and work from construction drawings, piping layouts, and electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, including wiring fundamentals.
- Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools; must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs or more.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with proven leadership in on-site coordination.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); exposure to ERP systems (such as D365) is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
