K2K9 Solutions, LLC. is seeking Full-time (Working Dog)
Veterinarian.
We currently have several hundred canines on site. This includes our labrador breeding program, working dog pipeline (explosive detection and multi-purpose canines) (Labradors, Malinois, German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, and German Pointers), and shelter/rescue canines. We have many more canines in the field that ranges from Alaska to New York and Los Angeles to Miami. The care for these teams is managed in correlation with their local veterinarian with scheduling for maintenance to happen at yearly recertification at K2K9.
K2K9 Solutions. Veterinary Hospital is a Certified United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Welfare Act Registered Class R Research Facility. K2K9 adheres to the guidelines set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Welfare Act (AWA), as well as state and local statutes and licensing requirements.
As the full-time Veterinarian you would work with another part-time Veterinarian, two Veterinary Technicians or assistants, and an office manager daily. You would work in conjunction with our Pipeline Manager, Kennel Manager and Supervisor, the Support Services Program Manager, Director of Canine Operations, and the Vice President of the Canine Training Academy.
Maintenance of the K2K9 Solutions canine population at peak performance and health is a focus of the K2K9 Veterinary Hospital. To meet the growing demands of our operations, we
are seeking a full-time veterinarian (30+ hours per week) to assist in the management of the health care of our canine population, as well as serve as a subject matter expert /
consultant for various projects, on an as-needed basis. We work closely with several research universities and companies/contracts.
This is a high paced, busy practice that needs someone who is good under stress and good with working dogs.

Schedule:
• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Occasional OT and emergency on call (to be discussed)
Education:
• Doctorate (DVM, VMD or international equivalent)
Experience:
• Veterinary Experience: 4 years (Preferred)
• working dog (shepherds, Malinois, Labradors): 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification: (in good standing)
• North Carolina license
• DEA License
• USDA Accreditation
• OFA (preferred)

Experience and Education:
Applicants should have a solid foundation in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of canines (general medicine), proficiency in preventative medicine and the ability to balance the needs of the individual with that of the population (I.E., herd medicine). Qualified individual must be competent in surgery and dental prophylactic procedures, radiology (ideally OFA credentialed), performing and interpreting laboratory data, sports medicine for working canines, breeding canine management (breeding, whelping, neonatal care). Additionally, shelter medicine and rescue case medicine is ideal. Individual should be proficient in communicating care requirements to individuals across all levels within the organization including kennel assistants, trainers, handlers,
and program management.
Qualified applicants must possess an NC State veterinary board license, in good standing, prior to their start date.
Individuals will also be required to maintain USDA Accreditation as well as a DEA license (schedule 2-5).
Qualified Applicants must also be a US citizen.
