We are a small, family-owned manufacturing business specializing in automotive drive shafts. With fewer than 10 employees, we pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship, strong teamwork, and a passion for the automotive industry. We're looking for a mechanically inclined, hands-on individual to join our shop team and grow with us.

Job Summary:

The General Labor Shop Worker will support various manufacturing and shop operations in a hands-on role. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, is an automotive enthusiast, and wants to learn new skills in a supportive environment. You'll assist in the production of custom and OEM drive shafts and related components while learning to operate manual machining and fabrication equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in general shop duties including material prep, part handling, and clean-up
  • Support the production and assembly of automotive drive shafts
  • Operate or learn to operate shop equipment such as:
  • Manual Bridgeport mill
  • Manual lathe
  • Drill press
  • Horizontal press
  • Semi-automated welder
  • Perform basic inspection and measurement of parts
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules
  • Take direction from supervisors and contribute to a team-oriented work culture
  • Display a willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and processes

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how things work
  • Automotive enthusiast preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
  • Willingness to learn machining, fabrication, and welding techniques
  • Dependable, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MIG and/or TIG welding experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment
  • Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Understanding of shop safety protocols
