Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Overhead Door Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead doors and related systems across various construction and commercial sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with construction-related tasks, and proficiency with hand and power tools. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise and craftsmanship.

Duties

  • Install, repair, and service overhead doors, including garage doors, commercial doors, and related hardware
  • Perform glass installation, door hanging, and fixture installation as needed
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation and repairs
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively
  • Conduct metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and cabinetry work when required for door or hardware installation
  • Apply caulking, sealants, and other finishing techniques to ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing
  • Assist with electrical wiring or electrical system troubleshooting related to door operators or security systems
  • Heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely throughout job sites
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction site work with knowledge of carpentry, remodeling, or maintenance person services
  • Hands-on experience with glass installation, locksmithing, or fixture installation is preferred
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems is highly desirable
  • Experience working with metal stud framing, electrical systems, or fabrication projects is advantageous
  • Prior work involving door hanging, remodeling projects, or construction site experience is a plus
  • Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools efficiently
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for heavy lifting and working on construction sites

This role requires a versatile skill set encompassing carpentry, mechanical knowledge, fabrication skills, electrical experience, and the ability to work safely in dynamic environments. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a construction setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
