About the Role

Encompass Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team supporting a telehealth-based outpatient psychiatry clinic. This fully remote role provides administrative and virtual clinical support to psychiatric providers and patients, ensuring smooth coordination of care and a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced virtual healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Virtually greet and check in patients for telehealth appointments, ensuring a supportive and professional experience
  • Obtain and update patient medical histories, current medications, and relevant health information
  • Support psychiatric providers during telehealth visits through documentation assistance and care coordination
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Provide patient education related to treatment plans, medications, and telehealth processes
  • Respond to patient questions or concerns via phone, secure messaging, or telehealth platforms
  • Assist with insurance verification, billing support, and claims processing as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare support role (e.g., clinical support staff, patient services, care coordination, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, telehealth platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently in a remote work setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Experience supporting telehealth and/or behavioral health services preferred
