In partnership with Key Ideas, we're driving the search for their next Motions Graphic Artist.

Reports to: Director of Production

Role Overview:

This is a multi-departmental team member crucial to the flow and culture of all Key Ideas productions. They work as video editors, shooters, grips/gaffer, motion graphic artists, and creatives depending on the need at different stages of pre-production, production and post-production. Ideally this role is filled by someone with 4-8 years of experience in the departments mentioned above.

Qualifications:

  • 4 or more years of shooting/video production, editing, and motion graphic work
  • Certificate or degree in media arts or filmmaking preferred but not required
  • Proficient in the Adobe suite and familiar with Key Ideas production equipment
  • Open to constructive feedback and able to give constructive feedback
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Creative and innovative mindset

Job Responsibilities:

Pre-Production:

  • Attend external and internal client meetings as needed
  • Communicate with producers and directors on assets and time needed for production
  • Read and help revise scripts
  • Create style frames based on scripts for motion graphics elements
  • Communicate with clients about assets needed before production
  • Conduct location scouts
  • Help maintain and expand Key Ideas grip van with the Production Director

Production:

  • Load and unload gear - ability to lift 40 lb
  • Assist with all camera, audio, gaff and grip set up
  • Help maintain a high quality look and feel for all shoots
  • Monitor interview shoots and shoot b roll as needed

Post-Production:

  • Offload footage in timely manner after production day
  • Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, from inception to final delivery
  • Upload videos to Vimeo for internal and external review
  • Communicate clearly with clients during video revision stages
  • Manage time effectively and track production hours per project

Motion Graphics

  • Assemble graphic assets, design layout, and create motion graphics
  • Take animated videos from start to finish at a high level
  • Look for new advancements an innovative approaches to motion graphics to enhance and maintain the look and feel of Key Ideas projects
