Experienced Bartender/Server

Basic Function: Responsible for all beverage service for the Club. Must be knowledgeable about wine and spirits and be able to offer suggestions to members. Must be able to serve tables if needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities: The following job duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Must have complete product knowledge and be prepared to offer suggestions to enhance guest's experience.
2. Perform assigned side work.
3. Stock bar with liquor, beer, wine, champagne, mixers, ice, fruits and vegetables.
4. Set up bar with proper glassware and needed tools.
5. Maintain bar inventory throughout shift.
6. Provide immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating.
7. Take members/guests orders and make suggestions as needed.
8. Assemble and serve drinks.
9. Verify bill accuracy and handle all account charges from guests and members prescribed by standard operating procedures.
10. Keep tables and bar clean and tidy; clear empty glasses as needed.
11. Advise supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
12. Perform all clean up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
13. Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by dining room supervisor.
14. When experiencing idle time, offer assistance in the dining room with cocktail orders, wine-opening, clearing, resetting tables, etc.

• Adhere to the Club's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
• Must be cognizant of the rules and regulations of the facility for the safety and welfare of the staff and members.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines.
• Adhere to all stated policies and procedures.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
• Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by dining room supervisor.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Positive interpersonal, customer service skills.
• Strong communication and cooperative skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact with a large and varied group of people including members and potential members in a professional and courteous manner.

Knowledge and Certificates: Prior bartending experience required as well as knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.

Experience: Two years bartending experience required.

Physical Demands of Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met and/or encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Requires indoor and outdoor work.

1. Weekends, holidays and evenings may be required.
2. While performing duties of the job, employee is required to stand for most of their shift. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee is required to regularly kneel or crouch, bend, reach overhead and walk.
3. Must be able to pull and lift up to fifteen (15) pounds regularly and occasionally up to forty (40) pounds.
4. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Machines/Equipment/Tools used:

1. Uniform required (Club provided).
2. Northstar Point of Sale software, Windows format, or other Club software as applicable.
3. Two retractable pens, wine key, lighter, side towel and name tag (Club supplied).

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt.

Supervision: No supervisory duties are included in this position.
