Job Summary
The
EHS Manager
leads safety initiatives at the site level. This role drives a learning mentality, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports continuous improvement. The manager assists building a strong safety culture, standardize safety practices, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership.
Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Develop and improve safety programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with sector/company
- Standardize protocols across facilities, if applicable
- Conduct risk assessments and audits
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and lead regional safety staff
- Set performance metrics and drive accountability
- Promote a collaborative, results-driven culture
Compliance & Incident Response
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, FDA, USDA, EPA and other regulations
- Investigate incidents and develop Corrective Actions and implement preventive measures
- Report safety data to leadership
Training & Engagement
- Support site-specific safety training
- Promote proactive hazard identification and safe behaviors
- Lead safety committees and improvement initiatives
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop site-specific emergency plans
- Support and participate in site specific drills and crisis training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
- CSP, ASP or other credentials preferred
- 5-10 years experience in manufacturing preferred focus on FDA regulated production
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to travel up to 10%
- Strong collaboration skills
