Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a Production Engineer II

Overview:

A major international company has an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer II at a large plant facility commutable to the east of the Atlanta metropolitan area. This role focuses on researching, designing, and developing manufacturing processes in a dynamic, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and equipment.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training, and evaluating results.
  • Design, develop, test, and/or source tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Develop and document the quality system for new programs (control plans, PFMEA, process flows, work instructions).
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen activities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains.
  • Utilize data (downtime, scrap, efficiencies) to plan countermeasures for equipment and process problems.
  • Create manning plans based on volume forecasts and provide design for manufacturability (DFM) input.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experiences:
  • 3 to 5 years of Engineering experience.
  • Required:
    Experience in CNC machining.
  • Preferred:
    Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry, with plastic injection molding, and automated high-volume assembly.
  • Other:
  • Technical skills in manufacturing processes, methods, flow, and layout.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary:
    $80,000 - $90,000 per year (Note: Candidates with under 3 years of experience may be considered for a Level 1 position at a lesser salary).
  • Benefits:
    Major benefits package, including an attractive 401(k) with matching (100% up to 6%), a 2-5% annual bonus potential, and potential relocation assistance.
