About us

Mulford Homes is a Community Integrated Living Facility that provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Duties

As a Counselor, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities seeking assistance with various personal and emotional challenges. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting patient assessments to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques
  • Providing counseling and support to individuals dealing with behavioral health issues, or other mental health concerns
  • Conducting diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health conditions and develop appropriate interventions
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as behavior therapist and psychiatrist
  • Implementing behavior management strategies to help clients develop coping skills and improve their overall well-being

Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience and qualifications:

  • A degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field with a license approved by the Illinois Department of Human Services

Accepted licenses:

  • licensed clinical psychologist
  • licensed social worker (or clinical)
  • licensed marriage or family therapist

  • licensed professional counselor (or clinical)

  • Previous experience in counseling or therapy, preferably in a clinical setting

  • Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and interventions
  • Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation procedures and assessment tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with clients and build rapport
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in the field of counseling

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
