Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients when needed.
- Support the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain a spotless environment.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes according to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff during busy service times to ensure all dishware is available for use without delay.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold sanitation standards and prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with setting up banquet or catering events by providing clean dishware and maintaining cleanliness throughout the event.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; familiarity with kitchen operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and food handling safety protocols.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy loads of dishes or equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
- Excellent teamwork skills; able to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
