HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

General Description:

In the Office of the Registrar, Classroom Scheduling, the primary responsibility of the Senior Scheduler position is to play an important role in producing the academic schedules for the University each semester. This position manages both academic and special events for the university community, manages instructional space, investigates, and resolves issues regarding space utilization. The Administrative will provide support for the Senior Scheduler position when needed. This position requires critical thinking skills as necessary to provide the functions of monitoring adherence to clock schedules, processing room change request, production of the class schedule, creating final exam schedules and submittal of external site requests. This position focuses on academic scheduling and supports that need on all six campuses.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily operations and workflow of academic scheduling processes.
  • Review and submit for approval routine clock exception requests.
  • Oversees and coordinates the production of the academic course schedule each semester by established deadlines.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges to produce each schedule.
  • Creates and post final exam schedules each semester. Create and submit off-clock final exam schedule to colleges each semester.
  • Provide conflict resolutions for final and common exams.
  • Responds to daily inquires via telephone, e-mail, or in-person. Process non-routine academic related reservation requests.
  • Serve as liaison between the Office of Course Scheduling with faculty, staff, students and academic colleges across 6 campuses.
  • Provides timely resolution of complaints regarding classrooms, academic scheduling, and faculty/staff inquiries.
  • Responsible for resolving classroom issues during emergency situations such as flood, fire, or equipment outages.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates written training documentation for the academic scheduling process.
  • Creates standard e-mail responses for routine requests and inquiries.
  • Attends monthly alternating monthly scheduler's meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Registrar on new projects or new initiates as needed.
  • Assists Senior Scheduler with event processing during peak times.

Qualifications:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and four years administrative experience; or a high school diploma or GED and eight years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating a knowledge of classroom scheduling.
  • Must have a working knowledge of integrated student record data systems, such as Banner and Banner Workflow.
  • Must have a collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
