Roving Maintenance Technician

Summary
We are looking for a Roving Maintenance Technician that plays a critical role in ensuring repairs at properties are completed in a timely manner . This position involves performing skilled maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep at multiple apartment communities in the San Diego Area The technician will ensure common areas, building systems, units, and exterior facilities are kept in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in apartment maintenance, problem-solving abilities, timely task completion, communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service that enhances resident satisfaction and supports all communities performance goals
Essential Requirements
Complete work orders in a reliable timely manner
Engage with residents professionally and exercise industry leading customer service
Drive to different properties daily to complete work orders and make ready units
Basic Appliance Repair (Refrigerator, Stove, and Microwave)
Knowledge of working appliance parts and functions
Make ready units in a timely manner whilst retaining quality craftsmanship
Knowledge of cabinetry repair and installation
Basic HVAC repair knowledge
Drain Snaking, P Trap Repair, and Garbage Disposal Install/Repair
Mold detection, remediation and repair
Drywall patching and leak repair
Safe and Skilled Driver
Hot Water Issue Diagnosis and Repair
Luxury Vinyl Plank Install and Repair
Baseboard Repair and Install
Basic painting and touch ups
Complete routine preventative maintenance inspections and identify needed repairs
Flood Restoration Repair
Inventory management experience and staying within a monthly budget
Proven track record of safe and trusted handling of materials and assets
Experience with google sheets, word, excel, email communication
Reliably communicate through text, phone call and respond in a timely manner
Experience with property management software (AppFolio, Yardi, RealPage e.t/c)
Experience with window replacement and door framing
Window screen repair and creation
On call – emergency maintenance experience
Works well with a team of people
Punctual, problem solving abilities, and eagerness to learn
Adhere to OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and company safety protocols
Safely handle and store hazardous materials and maintenance equipment
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 5+ years of verifiable maintenance experience in multifamily housing, facilities, or building maintenance.
- Verified track record of handling company materials responsibly
Basic Requirements
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required
- Proof of Auto Insurance
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and during after-hours emergencies.
- Be able to commute to different properties during the day
- Walk up and down stairs potentially whilst carrying tools and other materials.
- Wear proper protective equipment when necessary
- Work with various power tools
