Position Overview

Kahn Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout. The Project Manager is responsible for overall project execution, including budget control, scheduling, coordination with field leadership, subcontractor management, and client communication.

This role works closely with Superintendents, estimating, ownership, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Projects are primarily located in the Denver metro area to Colorado Springs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from contract execution through final closeout.
  • Convert awarded estimates into project control budgets that align with company profitability goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, coordinating sequencing with Superintendents and subcontractors.
  • Lead pre-construction handoff meetings and ongoing coordination meetings with field staff.
  • Review and manage subcontractor scopes, contracts, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Monitor project costs, forecast completion, and proactively identify risks or cost overruns.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, and documentation with architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and meeting minutes using Procore or similar systems.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to verify progress, quality, and schedule alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for owners and design teams, providing clear and timely communication.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience managing ground-up and/or tenant finish commercial construction projects.
  • Proven experience controlling budgets, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and cost control.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction project management software (Procore preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required.
