About the Role

22nd Century Technologies, Inc. (22nd) is seeking motivated
Document Specialists
to support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at our partner facility in Virginia Beach, VA. In this role, you will help ensure that scanned taxpayer documents are accurate, complete, and ready for digital processing. This is a
fast-paced, detail-oriented position
ideal for individuals who enjoy accuracy, teamwork, and supporting critical federal operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform
    quality checks
    on scanned documents to verify that on-screen data matches the original paper forms.
  • Review and validate data entries for completeness, accuracy, and correct formatting.
  • Follow established
    IRS quality control procedures
    and production goals.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain steady workflow and daily output.
  • Report discrepancies and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Support
    Lead Analysts
    with quality assurance and team coordination as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
    required; some college or data entry experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail
    , accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a
    production-oriented, fast-paced environment
    .
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn internal software tools.
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
    with a willingness to learn.
  • Business casual attire
    required. Cell phones and mobile devices must be stored in provided lockers while on the production floor.

Eligibility for IRS Clearance

Employment is contingent upon successfully obtaining and maintaining IRS clearance. 22nd will
sponsor and manage the clearance process
, which requires:

  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card) with at least four years of tax filings in good standing.
    Non-Green Card holders are not eligible, per IRS policy.
  • Ability to pass a
    criminal background check and drug screening
    .
  • No outstanding tax debt
    or compliance issues with the IRS.

Compensation & Opportunities

  • $17/hour

  • Long-term, full-time employment on a
    five-year federal contract
