Overview

We are hiring a CPA or senior-level accountant to run the financial operations of a construction company. This is a hands-on, on-site role covering tax preparation, full-cycle bookkeeping, job costing, payroll, vendor payments, reporting, and core office administration. Ideal for someone who wants stability, ownership, and real responsibility — not public-accounting churn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare business tax returns; assist with owner filings as needed
  • Full-cycle bookkeeping (AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting)
  • Job costing, budget tracking, and project financial reporting
  • Payroll processing and payroll reporting and compliance
  • Review invoices, pay vendors, manage cash flow
  • Office administration and scheduling support

Qualifications

  • CPA license or strong business tax-preparation experience
  • 3+ years accounting experience; construction industry experience preferred
  • Proficient with QuickBooks and submitting payroll systems
  • Highly organized, accurate, and deadline-driven
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site in Mount Vernon, NY

Compensation & Benefits

  • $65,000–$90,000+ (DOE)
