Overview

The Recreational Activities Staff II maintains the overall therapeutic milieu for patients in CL/TR activity programs.   The Recreational Activities Staff work predominantly in the evenings and weekends, planning and facilitating social recreational activities for the inpatient population, which support their psychosocial and developmental needs



Responsibilities

  1. Maintains quality and effectiveness of patient services through implementation of and compliance with all departmental and/or Institute policies and procedures.
  2. Facilitates the orientation, adjustment, and ongoing support of patients and families.
  3. Plans and implements developmentally appropriate social/recreational group activities on the evenings/weekends.
  4. Maintains a safe, therapeutic milieu in all patient areas and programs within the Institute and/or other community facilities.
  5. Interprets the mission, goals and philosophical base of the department, professional group, and/or Institute whenever necessary.  
  6. Assists with planning and coordinating special events, activities and outings as deemed appropriate.


Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS in Child Life/Child Development, Education, Recreation or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years' experience with pediatric population in hospital, structured recreation or educational setting.


Minimum pay range

USD $39,747.76/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $65,065.73/Yr.
