This is a part-time, temporary position ideal for individuals interested in recreation programming and community engagement.Important Employment DatesThis position is temporary and will run from Tuesday, May 26, 2026 through Friday, July 31, 2026. Applicants must be available to work for the full duration of this period.Please Note: This position requires availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support recreation programs, activities, and facility rentals.About the RoleThe Recreation Aide assists in supervising and implementing a variety of recreational activities and provides operational support for facility rentals. This role supports preschool programs, afterschool activities, adult recreation programs, and summer camps, while helping create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for participants.Recreation Aides actively engage with participants, assist with activity organization, and support staff with daily operations and program delivery.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Associate degree and two (2) years of experience planning recreational, athletic, and/or leisure activities;ORAn equivalent combination of training and experienceCandidates ages 16–17 are exempt from the education and experience requirement.Special RequirementsPossession of a valid North Carolina Driver's LicenseCandidates ages 16–17 are not required to have a driver's license and will not be required to drive Town vehiclesMust be comfortable driving passenger vans (if age-eligible)Candidates under the age of 18 must possess a North Carolina Youth Employment Certificate
