About The Role
Developers are at the center of Vapi's growth. This role is responsible for shaping how developers experience Vapi—from first impressions and docs, to tutorials, community, and content. You'll be the voice of the builder community internally and the voice of Vapi out in the world.

If you love building, storytelling, teaching, and being deeply involved in shaping how the next generation of conversational AI is built - this role will be your happy place.

What You'll Do

• Be the face of Vapi to builders: Engage directly with developers across Discord, GitHub, X, forums, hackathons, and livestreams.
• Own developer onboarding → activation: Clarify and simplify the developer journey from "What is Vapi?" to first call made, to first real user deployment.
• Create high-leverage content: Examples, templates, quickstarts, demos, sample apps, videos, workshops—anything that helps developers ship faster.
• Partner on documentation: Identify gaps, rewrite confusing areas, and maintain clarity + quality across
• Run and scale community programs: Office hours, AMAs, meetups, hack days, challenges, and ambassador/advocate programs.
• Collect and amplify developer feedback: Serve as the internal signal for what builders need, what's working, and what's slowing them down.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Product: Influence product direction based on real developer workflows and frictions you encounter in the wild.

Who You Are

• You build things - you can write code and think like a developer.
• You communicate clearly, simply, and in human language even about complex systems.
• You care deeply about developer experience and developer happiness.
• You can switch between hands-on building and high-leverage storytelling.
• You are comfortable being visible teaching, presenting, recording, or writing.
• You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you help create structure (not just follow it).

• What You've Done:

• We don't care what your exact title was, but you likely have experience in at least some of the following:

• Developer Relations, Dev Advocacy, Developer Experience, Solutions Engineering, Forward-Deployed Engineering, or Full-Stack Engineering roles.

• Built and shipped example apps, SDKs, plugins, tooling, or integrations.
• Run or participated in technical communities, open-source projects, or content channels (GitHub, YouTube, X, Twitch, etc).

• Worked directly with developers → from 1:1 support to broad community engagement.

• Nice to Have:

• Experience with voice or LLM-based agents.

• Experience launching or maintaining a technical community.
• Comfort with rapid product iteration / startup environments.
