JOB EXPECTATIONS

• Ensures a safe working environment for all employees.

• Daily activities for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and transportation departments.

• Oversees and develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees by analyzing and adjusting daily, weekly and monthly to the volume of business in the branch.

• Productivity goals for warehouse, production, transportation, receiving, and shipping.

• Hiring, coaching, teaching, training, development, and performance evaluation of current employees and supervisors.

• Ensures that all products built, received and/or shipped meet or exceed customer expectations.

• Practice Lean programs within the branch and proactively drive continuous improvement.

• Protects the assets of the company by implementing appropriate security and process controls.

• Creation of capital expenditure requests and costs justifications for these expenditures.

• Communicates priorities, progress, and expectations through daily huddle meetings minutes long) and monthly department meetings.

• Working with GM or DC Manager to develop goals and objectives for the operations department.

• Other duties as requested by management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Operations or Business Managemnet related field.

• 4+ years' experience and/or training.

• Experience in millwork and building materials is desirable.

• Lean or Six Sigma experience is beneficial.

• Experience in managerial assignments in the distribution industry is desirable.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume – ability to apply concepts of basic Algebra and Geometry.
