Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks with precision and care.
  • Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly, attentive service.
  • Operate Toast POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas.
  • Handle transactions by performing cashiering duties.
  • Ensure food safety standards are consistently met by following proper food handling and preparation procedures.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including assembling snacks or light food items.
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards.
  • Uphold health regulations by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation practices.
  • Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

  • Previous barista experience or background in coffee service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
  • Familiarity with Toast POS system
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with guests.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, sales calculations, and retail math tasks.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours effectively.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably around the café area, and lift up to 60lb when necessary.
  • A proactive attitude with a focus on teamwork, cleanliness, and creating an inviting atmosphere for all guests.
