Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, group homes, and home health care. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions.
  • Remind the client to take medications as per care plans and assist with meal preparation and cooking.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities.
  • Engage in patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health status.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in personal care or caregiving roles is preferred, particularly in nursing homes or hospice care settings.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is required.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism and developmental challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client support.
  • A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
