Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential and commercial electrical systems, with a strong background in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role involves working on construction sites, renovation projects, and ongoing facility upgrades, ensuring all electrical work complies with NEC standards and safety regulations. The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for interpreting schematics, reading blueprints, and utilizing various hand and power tools to complete projects efficiently and safely.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial settings, including low voltage and high voltage applications
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation and troubleshooting processes
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to ensure proper operation of automation equipment
  • Conduct renovations and upgrades on existing electrical systems while adhering to NEC codes and safety standards
  • Assist in construction activities such as framing carpentry or schematic layout for electrical installations
  • Perform routine inspections of electrical components to identify potential hazards or failures
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed for compliance and future reference
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification/ or Electrician with 3-4 yrs of experience
  • Proven experience as an residential or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of NEC standards
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, blueprints, and construction site work
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices
  • Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage systems including installation, troubleshooting, and safety procedures
  • Experience working on renovation projects or within construction environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently
  • Excellent safety awareness and adherence to OSHA regulations
  • Additional skills such as maintenance person experience or frame carpentry are considered a plus
