Position Description
Wesche Company is a family-owned distributor of commercial doors, frames, hardware, and building specialties. Our mission is to be builders' first choice through the best service and support, whether it is helping walk-in customers or supplying for the most iconic buildings in Northwest Arkansas.
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely, quality, and cost-effective acquisition of all project materials. The purchasing manager will cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and implementing efficient inventory management practices that support production and profitability.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Order hardware, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing aligned with project requirements and stock inventory needs.
- Order Division 10 materials (excluding Toilet Partitions, Signage, and Lockers)
- Assist in the purchasing of wood and specialty doors, including reviewing specifications, sourcing from qualified suppliers, and aligning lead times with project schedules.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor representatives, maintaining professional relationships and communication.
- Conduct ongoing research and participate in training initiatives to continuously improve purchasing strategies, optimize stock inventory levels, and stay current with product changes.
- Collaborate with detailing and project management teams to understand project-specific material needs, resolve procurement challenges, and ensure seamless material flow from planning to delivery.
- Oversee the logistics and timely delivery of purchased goods, resolving any shipping or supply discrepancies swiftly.
- Update Wesche Price Book as cost of goods change.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating pricing/contracts
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Comfortable communicating via email, in-person, and by phone
- Highly organized, with attention to detail and time management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- High degree of accuracy in your work
- Adept in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and data management

Preferred:
- 3+ years of purchasing
- Able to read and understand construction documents and or project specifications, specifically Division 8 and 10
- Experience with commercial construction
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40, $55,000.00 per year
