Rapidly growing distributor of spirits seeking an experienced full charge bookkeeper.Offices and warehouses located in Nashville, TN. Duties include Accounts Receivables (billing customers), Accounts Payable (paying vendors), maintain General Ledger and Inventory Control. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, education and certifications. References required.

SUMMARY

  • This position provides bookkeeping and accounting assistance to three LLC's distributing wine and spirits.
  • Salary and benefit package will be commensurate with worker's experience, education, and certifications.
  • The position reports to our Founder.
  • This is a full-time position with a minimum commitment of thirty-six hours per week. It is envisioned that this worker will perform their duties at the Corporate Office, although some exceptions to this policy may be approved from time to time and on a case-by-case basis.
  • Entities are currently utilizing the following accounting related software packages: Quickbooks Plus; Shopify, and OneSaaS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain Receipts and Disbursements (Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable) for each entity.
  • Maintain inventory control and accurate Cost of Goods Sold calculations.
  • Prepare sales tax returns as required.
  • Timely prepare payroll details to turn over to a third party processor and review output for accuracy.
  • Reconcile bank statements as assigned. Compare deposits and disbursements to statements and record all deposits and disbursements including bank charges, interest earned and all miscellaneous items. Investigate and report any discrepancies.
  • Prepare Financial and supporting Reports on a frequency.
  • Prepare other regular or ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Obtain information as needed to complete the required reports, whether from internal sources, other entities, vendors or employees.

Inventory control is a critical component of this position and duties will include:

  • Ensure accurate amounts (dollar and units) recorded in inventory.
  • Ensure accurate amounts recorded in Cost of Goods Sold.
  • Compare and reconcile book inventory with physical counts that will be taken on a periodic basis.
  • Assist and provide outside tax preparers with requested information for tax return preparation and reporting.
  • Process sales orders and payments from customers.

Handle requests for disbursements

  • Obtain approval for purchases in accordance with established procedure.
  • Verify customer and vendor terms and rates as may be appropriate.
  • Receive and process requests for disbursement from employees and managers.
  • Investigate and report any discrepancies.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed.
  • Assist other staff members when needed with general office duties or assistance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma is mandatory, with an undergraduate degree in accounting or business administration preferred. Several years or more of experience in lead bookkeeping position is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

An ability to read and interpret documents such as basic tax publications, regulations, instructions, routine correspondence and procedure manuals is required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required. Ability to speak effectively to callers and visitors to the office using excellent grammar and decorum is required.
